Exceptional Dental Care for the Entire Family
Dr. Koch received her bachelor’s degree in Ecology and Environmental Biology from the University of Michigan. She then continued her education by receiving her master’s degree in Biology from Eastern Michigan University and ultimately completing her dental training at the University of Michigan Dental School. In dental school, she pursued a focus in pediatric dentistry. After dental school, Dr. Koch moved to Chicago to practice.
When not working, Dr. Koch enjoys cooking, traveling, and is a member of a shuffleboard team. She also enjoys playing with her dog, Oliver, and two cats, Ike and Dewey, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Koch believes that every patient deserves a great smile and is committed to providing high quality care. She enjoys treating patients of all ages and practicing all aspects of dentistry, but likes to focus on treating children and oral surgery. She is an active member of the Chicago Dental Society, Illinois Dental Society, and the American Dental Association. She is a lifelong learner and enjoys continuing her dental knowledge by regularly attending continuing education courses within these organizations.
Dr. Patel began her path to dentistry at the University of Michigan where she graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology. During her undergraduate years, Dr. Patel launched her career in dentistry by working as a dental assistant. She obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, where she was awarded the “Best of the Best” Prosthodontics award.
Upon graduation, Dr. Patel furthered her education by completing a year long General Practice Residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, IL. During this training, Dr. Patel not only expanded her clinical and didactic dental knowledge, but also completed a month long Oral Surgery rotation at Cook County Hospital, was trained to perform IV sedations, and provided care to the special needs population of Chicago.
Her experiences in dentistry have molded her into a dental provider that truly enjoys all aspects of dentistry as well as treating patients of all ages. Currently, she is a member of the Chicago Dental Society, Illinois Dental Society, and American Dental Association.
After living in Michigan for a majority of her life, Dr. Patel is very excited to be living in the city of Chicago! She enjoys exploring the city from street fairs to different restaurants and cuisine. She loves to travel, meet new people, watch sporting events, and cherishes spending time with her friends and family.
Dr. Rotkvich graduated in the top ten of her class from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 2005. She then completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Kentucky before moving to Chicago to experience all that the big city has to offer. She worked as a dental assistant for six years prior to entering dental school, giving her a total of 22 years dental experience. She previously served on the board for Kid's First Dental, a non-profit organization which serves school children in the Appalachian Mountains of Eastern Kentucky.
Dr. Rotkvich enjoys playing piano, running, traveling, concerts and spending time with her family. She completed the 2015 Chicago Rock-n-Roll half marathon in 1:55. Dr. Rotkvich played tennis for Union College where she obtained her Bachelors in Biology/minor in Chemistry. Since practicing in Chicago, she has appeared twice on the cover of City Chicago Woman Magazine.
Dr. Rotkvich greatly enjoys all aspects of general dentistry from treating young children to performing oral surgery. Her philosophy is to treat each and every patient as if they were family. Dr. Rotkvich regularly attends a Spears Study Club to further advance her knowledge and skills. She has also volunteered at the Free Peoples Clinic in Chicago, Chicago Cares, and Mission of Mercy.
Dr. Simon has been a practicing dentist for over 25 years. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign Urbana in 1979, with a B.S. degree in Biology, and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D) degree from Southern Illinois University in Alton, Il. Dr. Simon is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, and the Chicago Dental Society. He currently serves as a Trustee on the Illinois State Dental Society Board and is the immediate past Chair of the ISDS Access to Care Committee. Along with regular participation in continuing education classes and programs, Dr. Simon lectures and consults nationally on a number of topics in the dental field. Besides the relationships that he holds with his patients and dental team, he is most passionate about mentoring new dentists and working to improve Access to Care for those most in need. In addition to City Smiles, he has owns and operates Sonrisa Urbana, a practice in Chicago’s Little Village community, since 1987. Dr. Simon is also fluent in Spanish.
Dr. Simon volunteers his time to various charitable causes including the Illinois Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped and the Old Irving Park Free Health Clinic. He also volunteers his time to mentor dental students and offers various internship and externship programs in his practice. He is a founding board member and current Vice President of the Greater Avondale Chamber of Commerce and his practices support various community business and residents associations.
Personally, Dr. Simon enjoys running, traveling, music, golfing, gardening and 60’s muscle cars. He is married with three children and has served as a scout leader, religious education teacher and coach of youth baseball, softball and soccer.
Dr. Simon's goal is to maintain a successful dental practice which serves to improve the quality of life for its patients and to help his employees grow and succeed in the field of dentistry.
